It’s springtime again … and that means the first spring holiday is almost here – St. Patrick’s Day!
I had fun putting together my St. Patrick’s Day Activity Packet. I started with a little geography about Ireland – and also the Irish flag. Then there’s a history sheet about St. Patrick, who he was and what he did. I actually created two versions, one that talks more about the religion aspects of his life and one that is more non-religious. Next is a worksheet about the shamrock – what it is , where its name came from, and some of the legends about clover, especially a four-leaf clover! There are reading response worksheets for both the St. Patrick and the Shamrock reading sheets.
Then there is a reading piece on what a leprechaun is followed by a reading response, and then The Leprechaun’s Three Wishes where students will write what they would wish for. There’s a history reading piece on the history of St. Patrick’s Day and a poem about pinches on St. Patrick’s Day.
I’ve included a St. Patrick’s Day Word Search and other literacy worksheets, like ABC Order, Adjectives, word scrambles, and some writing prompts. There is also a sheet for making words out of letters in the word “rainbows.”
There is a Draw a Leprechaun activity and a 3D Shamrock Paper Craft activity.
For math, there are Shamrock Numbers worksheets (circle the largest and smallest numbers in a shamrock), and Pot of Gold Addition and multiplication (adding and multiplying money on a pot of gold). There is also Rainbow Color By Number worksheets, with the numbers being solved using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. There are some St. Patrick’s Day Word Problems and finally a Shamrock Maze.
